TNUSRB Common Recruitment for Grade II Police Constables, Grade II Jail Warders and Firemen is conducted by Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board. Selection runs through 4 stages: Part I — Tamil Language Eligibility Test, Part II — Main Written Examination, Certificate Verification, Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test and Physical Efficiency Test, Character Verification and Medical Examination.

  2. Clear Part I Tamil Language Eligibility Test at 40% (qualifying).

Eligibility

Educational qualification

Open toClass 10 pass

Passed 10th Standard / SSLC from a recognised board.

Candidates who have not passed 10th standard but hold a higher qualification alone are ineligible. Tamil language ability is tested separately in the qualifying Tamil Language Eligibility Test. The main written GK and Psychology paper is evaluated only after clearing the Tamil test at 40%.

How to prepare for TNUSRB Common Recruitment

  • Tamil eligibility is a gate — prepare Tamil up to Class 10 syllabus separately; this site's English-medium GK/Psychology drills do not replace it.
  • GK (45 marks) draws from Tamil Nadu Government textbooks up to Class 10 — revise history, science, geography and polity basics.
  • Psychology (25 marks) tests judgment and suitability; practise situational and behavioural MCQs from the official model questions.
  • Because there is no negative marking in the main paper, attempt every question you can reason through.

Is the Tamil test part of the merit score?

No. The Tamil Language Eligibility Test is qualifying at 40%. Its marks are not added to the provisional selection list. You must clear it before the main GK/Psychology paper is evaluated.

What is the main written exam pattern?

Part II has 70 MCQs in 80 minutes: General Knowledge (45 marks) and Psychology (25 marks). Each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking. Minimum 25 marks are required to qualify.

Can I apply with a degree but no SSLC pass certificate?

No. The official notification states that candidates who have not passed 10th standard but hold only a higher qualification are ineligible.
