Odisha Police Sepoy/Constable Recruitment in OSAP, IR, SIR and Special Security Battalions — State Selection Board (OPSSB) is conducted by State Selection Board, Odisha Police. Selection runs through 4 stages: Computer Based Recruitment Examination (CBRE), Physical Standards Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Driving Skill Test, Document Verification and Medical Examination.

  1. Apply online on odishapolice.gov.in for one battalion only.
  2. Sit the Computer Based Recruitment Examination; the normalised score shortlists candidates.
  3. Clear the Physical Standards Test and Physical Efficiency Test.
  4. Complete the driving test where applicable, then document verification and the medical examination.

Eligibility

Educational qualification

Open toClass 10 pass

Passed the High School Certificate (Matriculation / Class 10) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or council.

Candidates must be able to speak, read and write Odia and should have passed Matriculation with Odia as one of the subjects. Under Advertisement No. 02/SSB (2024), women, transgender persons and persons with benchmark disabilities were not eligible — this was a male-only battalion recruitment.

How to prepare for Odisha Police Sepoy/Constable

  • The official notice fixes only the total paper (100 questions, 120 minutes) — prepare broadly across English, Odia, arithmetic, GK, reasoning and basic computers rather than betting on an unofficial section split.
  • Build Odia reading and writing alongside English; the real CBRE is bilingual except for language-specific Odia items.
  • Practise normalised-score thinking: the exam runs in multiple batches, so accuracy matters more than raw speed alone.
