West Bengal Police Constable Recruitment — West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) is conducted by West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. Selection runs through 5 stages: Written Examination, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Interview, Character Verification and Medical Examination.

  1. Apply online on prb.wb.gov.in when the recruitment opens.
  2. Sit the OMR written examination and score well — marks count in the final merit.
  3. Clear the Physical Measurement Test and the qualifying Physical Efficiency Test.
  4. Attend the Interview (up to 15 marks) and complete character verification and the medical examination.

Educational qualification

Open toClass 10 pass

Passed the Madhyamik examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.

The written paper is set at Madhyamik (Class 10) standard. Candidates must be able to speak, read and write Bengali, except permanent residents of the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts, where Nepali provisions apply. Date of birth is verified only from the Madhyamik or equivalent certificate.
