Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector (Confidential) and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk / Accounts) Recruitment is conducted by Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. Selection runs through 4 stages: Written Examination, Computer Typing or Stenography Skill Test, Physical Standard Test and Document Verification, Medical Examination.

  1. Sit the OMR-based written examination, whose normalised score decides the shortlist.
  2. Clear the qualifying computer typing test (ASI Clerk) or stenography test (SI Confidential).
  3. Clear the Physical Standard Test and complete document verification.

SI (Confidential) requires stenography (Hindi and English shorthand) and a computer certificate such as CCC/O-Level; ASI (Clerk) requires computer typing; ASI (Accounts) generally requires a commerce or mathematics background at graduation.
