How to prepare for Indian Navy Agniveer SSR

    • All four sections carry equal 25 marks and you must clear each one, so build English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness evenly rather than leaning on a strong subject.
    • Science and Mathematics are at the 10+2 level — revise Physics, Chemistry and Biology basics and drill algebra, trigonometry and mensuration for quick solving.
    • The 0.25 negative marking rewards accuracy; qualify each section first, then improve your total, and avoid blind guessing.
    • For General Awareness, add a daily current-affairs habit and keep notes on defence, especially the Navy — ships, exercises and history.
    • Start physical training early: the run and strength tests, and a swimming requirement during training, all need conditioning ahead of time.

    Frequently asked questions

What subjects do I need in Class 12 for Navy SSR?

You need a Class 12 pass with Mathematics and Physics, and at least one of Chemistry, Biology or Computer Science. Only unmarried candidates within the age window may apply.

Is there an interview for Agniveer SSR?

No. Selection is based on the written examination, the physical fitness test and the medical. The state-wise merit list is drawn from the Stage II written marks — there is no personal interview.

    Is there negative marking?

Yes. Each correct answer earns 1 mark and 0.25 marks are deducted for a wrong answer. You must also clear each section separately, so do not neglect any subject.

Can women apply for Navy Agniveer SSR?

Yes. Unmarried women candidates are recruited as Agniveer (SSR) alongside men, within the age and education conditions.
