Haryana Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group C Posts — HSSC is conducted by Haryana Staff Selection Commission. Selection runs through 2 stages: Common Eligibility Test (Group C), Phase-II Post-specific Main Examination / Skill Test.

  1. Apply for the CET on hssc.gov.in after completing the required registration.
  2. Sit the 100-mark Common Eligibility Test and score the qualifying minimum (50% general, 40% reserved).
  3. Apply, as a CET-qualified candidate, for the Group C posts advertised by HSSC.
  4. Clear the Phase-II main examination and any skill test, then document verification, for final selection.

For Group C posts, passed Class 12 (Senior Secondary) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Specific posts may require a higher or technical qualification at the mains stage.

The CET for Group C is at Senior Secondary level; the Group D CET is at matriculation (Class 10) level. Age and exact qualification of the target post apply at the mains stage.

  • Qualifying marks: 50% for the general category and 40% for reserved categories.

  1. Register on hssc.gov.in

    Complete the required registration on the HSSC portal (or the linked application website) when the CET opens.

  2. Fill the CET application form

    Complete the form, provide your details and upload the photograph and signature to the stated specifications.

  3. Pay the fee and submit

    Pay the applicable fee online, submit the form and save the printout for reference.

      How to prepare for Haryana CET

      • Haryana GK is the biggest single block (25 marks) — study Haryana's history, geography, culture, polity and current affairs thoroughly.
      • There is no penalty for wrong answers, so attempt every question — but always mark option E for anything you skip, or you lose a mark.
      • Build steady accuracy in reasoning, mathematics, English and Hindi, which together carry 60 marks.
      • Practise full 100-question OMR papers in 1 hour 45 minutes to fix your pace and the fifth-option habit.

      Frequently asked questions

      Is there negative marking in the Haryana CET?

      There is no deduction for a wrong answer. But one mark is deducted for every unattempted question, so you must fill the fifth option (E) on the OMR sheet for any question you skip.

      What is the qualifying mark?

      50% for general candidates and 40% for reserved categories, as per the HSSC CET policy.

      What is the difference between the Group C and Group D CET?

      The Group C CET is at Senior Secondary (Class 12) level, while the Group D CET is at matriculation (Class 10) level. This page covers the Group C CET.

      Does qualifying the CET guarantee a job?

      No. The CET only makes you eligible to apply for Group C posts. A Phase-II main examination (and skill test, where applicable) decides final selection.
