Indian Navy Agniveer (MR — Matric Recruit) Recruitment under the Agnipath Scheme is conducted by Indian Navy. Selection runs through 4 stages: Stage I Written Examination (online), Stage II Written Examination, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Recruitment Medical Examination.

  2. Sit the Stage I online examination at your allotted centre.
  3. Be shortlisted state-wise on the Stage I marks.
  4. Sit the Stage II written examination.
  5. Clear the Physical Fitness Test and the recruitment medical.

Educational qualification

A Class 10 (Matriculation) pass with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a board recognised by the Government of India.

Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Both men and women are recruited as Agniveer (MR). MR fills the chef, steward and hygienist trades, and for the Musician sub-stream a musical aptitude is also required. Merit is drawn state-wise.

17 to 21 years as on the birth-date window stated in the notification (about 17 to 21 years for the batch).

    • A single combined paper of 50 objective questions for 50 marks in 30 minutes, at the Class 10 (Matriculation) level, covering Science, Mathematics and General Awareness.
    • The split of questions across the three areas is indicative; the paper is set as one combined test and is not sectionally timed.
    • The paper is bilingual, in English and Hindi.

    How to apply

    1. Register on joinindiannavy.gov.in

      Create an account with your personal and educational details and keep your login safe.

    2. Fill the application and pay the fee

      Complete the form, give your examination city preferences, upload your photograph and signature, and pay the Rs 550 (plus GST) fee online.

    3. Download the admit card and appear

      Download the admit card from the portal and sit the Stage I online examination at your allotted centre with your Aadhaar.

    Under the Agnipath scheme, the monthly package is about Rs 30,000 in the first year (with roughly Rs 21,000 in hand after 30% goes to the Agniveer Corpus Fund), rising to about Rs 40,000 by the fourth year. On completion of four years, a tax-free Seva Nidhi of about Rs 10.04 lakh is paid, and non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 48 lakh applies during service.     How to prepare for Indian Navy Agniveer MR

    • The paper is short and fast — 50 questions in 30 minutes — so build speed on Class 10 Science and Mathematics until the standard questions are near-automatic.
    • Revise Class 10 Physics, Chemistry and Biology from your school textbook; the Science share is the largest and rewards clear fundamentals over tricks.
    • Drill arithmetic — percentage, ratio, interest, time and work, and mensuration — because Mathematics questions are quick marks if your calculation is reliable.
    • Keep a light daily current-affairs habit and revise defence and Navy static general knowledge, since General Awareness is a small but easy-to-score share.
    • Start physical training early: the 1.6 km run, strength tests and a swimming requirement during training all need weeks of conditioning ahead of time.

    What is the minimum qualification for Navy Agniveer MR?

    A Class 10 (Matriculation) pass with at least 50% marks in aggregate. MR is the matric-entry stream that fills the chef, steward and hygienist trades, so a Class 12 pass is not required.

    Is there an interview for Agniveer MR?

    No. Selection is based on the written examinations, the physical fitness test and the medical. The state-wise merit list is drawn from the marks — there is no personal interview.

    Is there negative marking?

    Yes. Each correct answer earns 1 mark and 0.25 marks are deducted for a wrong answer. With only 50 questions in 30 minutes, accuracy matters, so avoid blind guessing.
