Solution
Pens sit inside markers, and markers inside inks, so every pen is an ink - conclusion I holds. Since all pens are inks, converting gives some inks are pens, so II holds too. Both follow.

Direction sense · solved example
A man walks 5 km towards the north, turns right and walks 3 km, then turns right again and walks 5 km. How far is he from his starting point and in which direction?
Solution
Facing north and turning right means facing east, and turning right again means facing south. So the movements are 5 km north, 3 km east, then 5 km south. The northward and southward legs cancel exactly, leaving only the 3 km eastward displacement. He is 3 km to the east of where he started.
