National HPV Vaccination Campaign crosses 80 lakh doses

India has administered more than 80 lakh (8 million) doses of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine under the National HPV Vaccination Campaign, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2026. The campaign provides free, voluntary, single-dose vaccination to 14-year-old girls with parental consent, monitored through the U-WIN digital platform. Uttar Pradesh leads with over 22 lakh adolescent girls vaccinated; Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram achieved 100% coverage of identified targets, while Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Assam crossed 90%. BRICS Bharat Innovates Exposition

The Ministry of Education, with the Ministry of External Affairs, opened the BRICS Bharat Innovates (BBI) Exposition at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi (11–12 September), alongside the 18th BRICS Summit under India’s chairship. 37 Indian deep-tech startups — selected from a cohort of 120 that participated in Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice, France — showcase innovations including AI-enabled cervical cancer screening, foetal monitoring, marine robotics, floating solar PV and rare-earth-free e-powertrains. The exposition aligns with India’s BRICS theme: “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.” PIB
