Russia bids for five more S-400 squadrons

Russia has submitted its response to India’s tender for five more squadrons of the S-400 Triumf long-range air-defence system for the Indian Air Force, a deal estimated at over ₹50,000 crore; the Defence Ministry says the proposal is “under process.” India has already received four of five squadrons from the original 2018 agreement, with the fifth due by November 2026, and the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) cleared this fresh batch in March 2026.
